Dear Orchards Families,

We are now up to 14 resident cases of COVID-19 on Orchards, if your loved one has tested positive you have been notified.

Orchards residents are not allowed off the home area, however, exceptions may be made for medical or compassionate purposes. If this is the case please consult with me before taking your loved one off the home area.

The only type of visitors permitted are EFC’s, and only one is allowed per resident at a time.

We understand that families are anxious to know the status of their loved one, however, we have been receiving an influx of calls from family members who are not the Power of Attorney.

If someone is not listed as the POA we cannot share information, so please ask your family members to call the designated POA for updates, and not the home.

We are also receiving calls during medication passes, or during times where the nurses are wearing full PPE and it is difficult to answer the phone.

Please email whenever possible, rather than calling, so that the nurses can get back to you when they are available.

If you are calling please refrain from calling before 10am for non-urgent issues.

Please be assured that if there is a significant change in status with your loved one we will call you.

I am also available to answer any questions that you may have.

Thank you,
Celeste Pols,
Director of Resident Care
