Effective immediately leaves of absence (LOA) agreements will no longer be required for most Manor LOA’s.
If you are taking your loved one out please arrange this with the home area RPN, as swabbing is still required 5 days after the LOA.
There are a few exceptions to this, and you will need to contact me if you plan to take your loved one to;
- A gathering where there will be greater than 10 people present, and masking and physical distancing are not in place.
- A higher risk gathering, such as weddings or funerals
- An overnight LOA (one or more nights for non-medical purposes).
If anyone that your loved one comes into contact with tests positive or develops symptoms within 48 hours of the LOA please notify us immediately.
Doing so will prevent outbreaks and restrictions within the home.
In addition, please cancel or postpone the LOA if you, or anyone the resident will come into contact with, has tested positive or had any symptoms of COVID-19 in the past 10 days.
Thank you for your patience as restrictions continue to ease within the Long Term Care sector.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
Sincerely,
Celeste Pols,
Director of Resident Care
