Current Outbreaks on Lakeview and Mapleview. Click "learn more" for  visiting information.

Today I am happy to report some good news. We have negative results for all of the Mapleview residents and all except on outstanding result for the Sunrise Court residents.

The remaining residents on Sunrise Court have been removed from isolation, the family of the resident with outstanding results has been notified.

Unfortunately due to the high spread of the Omicron variant within the community we have had multiple staff members rapid test positive on their way into the building over the past few days, including a staff member for Lakeview.

However, since the staff are all wearing full PPE, the Lakeview residents will not be placed into isolation and isolation is not extended for any of the other home areas.

We are thankful that this is the approach that Public Health is now allowing us to take to keep residents out of their rooms and protect our workforce.

We will continue to closely monitor all residents for symptoms, and will isolate and swab any resident(s) who exhibit one or more symptom of COVID-19.

Terraceview remains in isolation until at least January 3rd, with test results pending.

You may have seen reports in the media about isolation being shortened if you have COVID-19 or are a high risk contact.

Although you may be able to go about your daily lives after 5 days in the community, this does not apply to visitors or EFC’s in Long Term Care homes.

If you have COVID-19 or have been exposed, please do not come to the home for 10 days from symptom onset or exposure.

There are exceptions to this in palliative or emergency situations, if that is the case please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for your continued prayers as we navigate COVID-19.

Sincerely,

Celeste Pols, Director of Resident Care
