Dear Mapleview families,

We wanted to update you on the status of the Mapleview COVID-19 outbreak .

There have been no new positive test results for COVID-19, however several other residents who have symptoms have been placed into isolation while we wait for their test results.

We have also received new information from Public Health regarding protocols for visits and Leaves of Absence, so please note the underlined sections below where information has been updated.

Residents

  • Group activities, and communal dining are continuing on the home area for all other residents on Mapleview.
  • Mapleview residents are unable to socialize with residents from other home areas at this time, and will not attend programming where other home areas are present.
  • Mapleview residents must wear a mask when leaving the home area to go for an LOA.
  • Mapleview residents are not to mingle with residents from other home areas.
  • Mapleview residents may use the outdoor space that has been sectioned off for them to prevent mingling in the courtyard.

Essential Family Caregivers & General Visitors

  • Residents in isolation will receive visitors in their rooms.
  • Visitors of those in isolation must where appropriate PPE as  identified on the signage outside the residents door.
  • Families are encouraged to limit visits to 2 visitors at a time and to not bring children.

Leaves of Absences

  • Non-essential LOA’s are permitted for all residents who are not in isolation. Essential or compassionate absences are permitted for residents in isolation, but please discuss this with the DRC/ADRC so that a plan can be put in place to prevent virus transmission.

Since the rest of the home is on heightened surveillance, please only visit one home area per visit to Shalom.

Please do not visit Shalom if you have any cold, flu or other respiratory symptoms!

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Thank you.
