We are in a whole home outbreak for COVID-19 with all home areas impacted.
If your loved one is symptomatic their POA (if applicable) has been notified.
The following protocols are in effect for the whole home to reduce the risk of more residents getting sick.
- Whole home programs are suspended, and residents cannot mingle with other residents from different home areas- this includes the Gardens.
- Masks will be mandatory for all visitors, additional PPE is required if the resident you are visiting is in isolation- please follow the signage on the door.
- Visiting: Each resident may receive up to two visitors at a time, please refrain from bringing children.
- Leaves of Absences (LOA): Residents not in isolation can still go out for an LOA,the resident is required to wear a mask until they get outside the building. Residents in isolation are still permitted LOA’s for compassionate or medical purposes, if this is needed please contact the DRC (drc@shalommanor.ca) so that a plan can be put in place for this LOA to happen safely.
- Café and general store are closed.
Residents not in isolation will continue to participate in group activities on their home area and communal dining.
Please pray for the residents and staff at Shalom, and that the outbreak will be over quickly.
